Description:
|
Honolulu Zoo is a neat 1/2 day outing for children and adults. Located in Queen Kapiolani Park near the Diamond Head side of Waikiki Beach. Many of the mammals especially lions, tigers found it too hot, but all the other animals were readily seen. They specialize in a number of exotic birds, some of them really friendly like the hornbill. Walking is easy on the paths. There is a petting zoo for children, plenty of snacks and drinks, and a play area that looked more like the children's zoo. Go early in the morning because it can get quite hot. Gift shop on premises.

I have found another adventure to look forward to. It reminds me that the zoo can be a change of pace from beach going while touring the island.
