The Tale of Custard the Dragon was written by Ogden Nash, one of the great humor poets of the US. The artwork is a lot of fun, with childish versions of all the animals including the heroic dragon. The story is about not judging people by what they say but by what they do. There's a pirate to spice things up. The rhyme used isn't sing-song but plays nicely on the ear. This book is perfect 1-4 grade children, with colors and good vocabulary.
