A lot of the programming on TV is mindless, empty, and meaningless so I am thrilled when I come across quality shows for my 3 and 5 year old to watch. I found Puppy Plays through HBO on demand. Although Baby Einstein is wonderful, my kids have outgrown it and I think Puppy Plays is better. Also they say that children who learn to love animals have more compassion for others and are less likely to develop destructive behavior. The boys love the adorable puppies as they act out fun short stories and perk up and run over when they hear it on. The shows use classical songs and even tell the kids what composer its from (Mozart, Tchaikovsky). I also love that each story has a moral lining so the kids are learning how to behave well instead of hit each other like they do in cartoons. I ordered the DVD off their website (puppyplays.com) so my kids could watch the other two stories as well and now its on everywhere we go in the car. I loved that they had pet care tips from the Humane Society to teach the boys responsibility. Overall I think this DVD hits the mark on creating a well rounded yet entertaining show.
